Do you ever feel like you just need to dress up and feel pretty? I literally spend so much time living in workout or barn clothes that sometimes I just need to put on something pretty! Like a skirt or a dress, but then I usually feel overdressed and just put on a pair of jeans as usual.
I know that sounds kind of vain but feeling pretty isn’t a bad thing. In fact I think we should all make it a point to do whatever little things we can to make ourselves “feel” better everyday. It could be a perfect outfit, a fresh highlight or nail color – I know for me when I get my hair highlighted it’s like I’m a new person! It just brightens my face and lifts me up and makes me feel good! When you have something that you feel good about even if its a small thing it can change your whole outlook for the day and let’s be honest who doesn’t want to just be happy and feel good??
This week was one of those weeks for me. I just wast feeling a bit dull after worrying about my doggie for a week and hoping and praying he’d get better. Spending lots of sleepless nights on the sofa with him watching him breathe and listening to every little noise his tummy made. I know what you’re thinking but my dogs are like my kids to me. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to make them better when they’re sick. They give us such unconditional love everyday how can I not love them as much as I do?
I had a hair appointment that I was going to cancel but since he was doing better I decided I could leave for a bit and he’d be ok for a few hours. I’m so glad I did. It was exactly what I needed. I had pushed back my regular appointment 2 weeks past when I normally get my hair done because I was just busy so to say I needed it is an understatement. It wasn’t until the next day when I got dressed and ready that I realized how much better it made me feel!
So I’m always looking for pieces I can wear that give me that “feel good” feeling. Something pretty, flirty, fun, interesting, and of course figure flattering! Although, I don’t ever want feel too dressy unless I’m headed to a special event like a wedding or something and then I’m game for some glam!
But since skirts are big this fall and so are stripes and this skirt has both it was a win-win. I love the asymmetrical shape of this skirt that gives it such a cool look. The varied pattern in the stripes is also a definite figure flatterer which is a bonus! And the pointed hem gives it even more style. It has so many possibilities for how to style it also which is another reason I love it. It’s perfect for these last couple months of summer and will be a staple item in my closet thru Fall! It caught my eye on the rack so I knew it would look fabulous on!
