Sometimes when I sit down to write a post it’s hard to think of a title. Most of the time it comes to me as I’m in the process of writing so I never usually start off knowing what my posts will be called until I am sometimes halfway through writing them.
In fact as I was writing this, I didn’t really even know what I wanted it to be about. I wanted to feature this blouse, but this wasn’t an outfit I was particularly crazy about. I kind of threw it together last minute before my shoot, which as a blogger is a big No-No! But life gets in the way of always doing things the right way and every once in a while when you didn’t get much sleep the night before or you got sidetracked with life’s problems, you have to just throw caution to the wind and wing it!
That’s probably not what you want to hear from me. “Hey ya’ll here’s my outfit but I’m not sure I like it and honestly I’m not really in love with it…” Am I right? Who wants to hear about insecurities from somebody who’s posting about fashion? Well like I’ve said I never really thought of myself as a fashion queen, but I do love clothes and styling outfits and trying different things and truth be told there are times when I put things together and they just don’t work. Although it might just be me and my own insecurities that make me think something doesn’t work. So I’m kind of at a point where I normally might not have even posted this outfit for fear of someone saying “what the heck were you thinking with this one?” But I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone lately and when something would normally whisper to me “I wouldn’t do that” I’m gonna do it anyway and see what happens.
Not every outfit I style will appeal everyone and that’s ok because maybe it will appeal to a few people or even maybe just one person and that’s all that matters to me.
I’d say my style is definitely more dressy casual than casual and even if I’m just going to a soccer game or for a casual night out I’m always grabbing something a bit more dressy than most. I’m definitely not instantly a t-shirt and jeans gal, especially if I’m going somewhere. It’s not that I don’t like that look but I just always gravitate towards something a bit more glamorous. And if I do wear a t-shirt and jeans it’s going to be with a pair of heels and not tennis shoes or flats.
So, when I normally would have paired this blouse with black trousers or a skirt – which would be fabulous as well, I opted instead to try it with a pair of light wash jeans for a completely different look and these casual black espadrilles instead of a classic stiletto style heel. Although those would look great also!
So back to the title about an outfit I wasn’t sure I was gong to love. As I was adding the link to this blouse I found my title. The name of this blouse is the “Say You Love Me Blouse”. How perfectly appropriate…And suddenly I’m totally loving this outfit!
